2nd Thursday in Kelowna

Okanagan's Official Tech Event - 2nd Thursday

Yesterday was the first “2nd Thursday” event held in Kelowna at The Rotten Grape. 2nd Thursday(@2ndthursday) is a brand new organization that hopes to bring together all of the talent within Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley’s Marketing, Creative and Media sectors. I’m extremely excited for 2nd Thursday and the opportunities it will provide for the tech community throughout the valley.

The first event was very informal and mostly consisted of wine drinking and socializing with colleagues from around the area. It was a great way to get introduced to all those who are involved and interested in the efforts of 2nd Thursday. Although the venue was extremely small for the amount of people that came to the event, The Rotten Grape was a beautiful place and they were gracious hosts. If you’re into wine and are in the Kelowna area, be sure to check them out!

Richard Taylor(@rtstrategy), who is the Founder and President of 2nd Thursday, informed us that the next event will include a formal introduction of the board members and volunteers involved in 2nd Thursday. Our very own Director Chris Onyett(@chrisonyett), has been accepted on the board as the head of the Search Engine Optimization & Search Engine Marketing Special Interest Group. You can expect to hear about some future events headed up by Chris involving educative seminars and insights into SEO and SEM.
