Compression: Lossless, Lossy (data)

If your website takes too long to load, you might lose your visitors. Data compression is one way of reducing the the time it takes for the page to load by reducing the size of the website’s files or content. There are two compression methods, one is lossless where the resulting file is an exact match of the original data source and the other is lossy where the resulting data is different from the source.
